Municipality of Burgas Checked Health- and Social Care Institutions’ Readiness for Influenza Epidemic
All of the municipal healthcare and social care institutions in Burgas have taken the necessary measures to limit dissemination of influenza, caused by virus A (H1N1) and provide adequate medical treatment to patients. This was found after an inspection, initiated by deputy mayor of healthcare at Burgas Municipality Dr. Loris Manuelyan. On the 3rd of November the Regional Healthcare Centre at the Ministry of Healthcare sent a letter, containing directions for healthcare personnel’s work during influenza epidemic. Burgas Municipality demanded from all municipal healthcare institutions to send documentation, certifying that medical staff is familiar with the guidance of the Ministry. New Playground Will Make Children in “Lazur” Happy
New playground in the area between residential blocks 72, 73 and 74 in “Lazur” was officially opened today by the deputy mayor of construction Kostadin Markov. This is an investment project of Burgas Municipality, realized with the support of “Zonta Club–Burgas”. There are basketball facilities, swings, slides and a climbing frame there. The playground is designed for children aged 3 to 12. Brant new benches are installed around and special rubber covering for the safety of kids is laid on the ground. Co-students and friends of Petko Gerorgiev are trying to help in his fight against cancer. EUR 15 000 is the sum, needed for a special medical treatment, that will save his sick lung. Black Sea Towns of Burgas and Batumi Swear Fellowship
An official twinning agreement was signed by mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov and mayor of Batumi Robert Chkhaidze today in the city hall of Burgas. Both port towns have many things in common, the most important of which is their economic and tourist potential. In his visit to Burgas mayor of Batumi is accompanied by the vice-premier of the autonomous republic of Adzharia Levan Antadze, David Kasradze – chairman of innovations in Batumi and Irene Shervashidze – director PR at the Municipality of Batumi. 168 Tons of Sand to Provide Road Safety During the Winter
Representatives of Burgas Municipality and Traffic Police inspected technical facilities and equipment of “Titan Burgas” consortium with regard to upcoming winter in town. It was found, that in general motor vehicles’ condition are in good condition. The following materials for treatment of roads against ice are available: * Sand – 168 tons * Salt – 23 tons * Siftings – 418 tons * Lye – 100 tons The conclusion is that at this moment “Titan Burgas” is ready to for winter maintenance of roads in Burgas municipality.
