Dancing and Sports against Smoking

Municipality of Burgas will join the International Day against Smoking /November 19th/ with series of initiatives against smoking. Partners of the municipality are the Regional Inspectorate of Health Care and Control-Burgas, “Ayaks” Sports Club “Dance BG” association, “Dun” dance studio, Bulgarian Red Cross and  “Praktiker” hypermarket. The programme for November 19th is as follows:  - 11.00 h  - “Harms of Smoking and Ways to Quit” – Discussion – “Dun” dance studio, “Tsar Asen” 7 St., floor 4 - 13.00 h – Demonstration of dances and martial arts - 19.30 h – “Sports against Smoking” - Discussion – “Ayaks”…

Projects for Wind Energy and Photovalic Park in Bulgarovo Discussed

There are serious investment interests for the second by size town in Burgas municipality – Bulgarovo. On this occasion mayor of Bulgarovo Yordan Yordanov called a common meeting, so that residents of the town share their opinions and recommendations regarding several projects: * Construction of photovalic park on an area of 1700 sq.m. * Plastic and aluminium profiles production plant on an area of 90 sq.m. * Construction of wind generation park in the region of “Partselite”. The public discussion will be held on the 28th of November /Saturday/, 9 h in “Saglasie” community centre of Bulgarovo.  

Execution of "Health for Happiness Project" Has Started

On the 12th of October 2009 execution of “Health for Happiness” project has started. It is representing a network of school clubs with healthy principles. It was won by “Ravnovesie” association in a partnership with Burgas Municipality, Bulgarian association for bird protection, Vasil Levski school – Bulgarovo and Hristo Botev school – Sarafovo. The project is financed by the Operational programme “Human Resources Development”. The main point of the project is prevention of school dropout by attractive out-school practices regarding health. Burgas Municipality Organises Public Discussion on Forthcoming Investment Projects

Municipality of Burgas invites all interested citizens to a public discussion in regard with forthcoming investment projects. It will be held on November 27th, 2009 at 15 h in the conference hall of the Municipality. The following projects, that are applying for gratuitcus financial support by “Regional Development 2007-2013” OP, will be discussed: * Pedestrian area of “Aleksandrovska”, “Bogoridi” and “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” streets – reconstruction, landscaping, planting and construction of facilities providing access for people with disabilities; * “Gurko” and “Adam Mitskevitch” streets – reconstruction of green areas, parking lot, bicycle alleys and…

Flu School Holiday is Over

Tomorrow, November 18th Burgas students will go back to school. Flu epidemic is officially resumed, for morbidity rate has significantly decreased. Regional Headquarters against Influenza remind, that the other measures against season’s viruses remain: there will be no planned operations, no visits in hospitals, no women’s and children’s consultations and no immunizations. Kindergartens continue working with stricter visit control.  

Reconstruction of the Subway next to Ex-Military Hospital Completed

Reconstruction of the subway on “Stefan Stambolov” Blvd. next to “St. Georgi Pobedonosets” medical centre /ex-Military hospital/ has been completed. The reconstruction was financed by the Minicipality of Burgas. The subway has been out-of-use for years due to its miserable conditions and missing lighting. The lining of the walls was unstuck, marble plates on the floor were broken, sewerage was blocked and the ceiling in the pedestrian tunnel was dislodged. Now inside the subway there is new flooring, ceiling and walls’ facing. Electric and sewage systems as well as surrounding pavements were reconstructed. New dustbins are to be put inside.
