Not one, but two international student competitions for packaging design can involve young people from Burgas. The first competition is for original design of cardboard packaging - Pro Carton Young Designers Award 2022.
The competition is the leading annual competition for young talent in Europe for packaging design. It is organized by the European Association of Cardboard and Carton Manufacturers and aims to stimulate the creation of sustainable and innovative cardboard packaging. The competition work can also be a course project of the candidate.
Those wishing to participate can apply in 4 categories: "Creative cardboard packaging for food and beverages", "Creative cardboard packaging" (excluding food and beverages), "Creative cardboard ideas" and "Save the planet" (alternative to plastic cardboard packaging ).

The second competition - Pro Carton Student Video Award, is a European video competition in which to talk about the many benefits of using cardboard in everyday life. The video should promote or explain one or more of the benefits of cardboard packaging (or cardboard) in a creative way, and the finalist will win 5,000 euros.

The aim of the competitions is to promote the benefits of the use of cardboard and cardboard packaging around the world, at the expense of plastic, as an economically and environmentally balanced means of packaging.
