The Complete Collection of Leonardo’s Machines for the First Time in Bulgaria

The complete collection of 27 models, belonging to the Museum “Leonardo da Vinci” in the native town of the artist will be exposed for the first time in Bulgaria. The collection comes to Burgas after an invitation by Burgas Municipality and with the kind cooperation of Alessandro Buzzoni – honoured consul of Bulgaria in Vinci, District of Toscana.
The exact replicas of Laonardo’s machines will be transported via especially equipped truck with a length of 18.5 metres and height of 4 metres. According to the preliminary schedule they will be in Burgas on March 3rd, about 9.30 a.m. The unloading and installing of the models will start immediately under high security measures. The biggest model’s has height of 1 m., width of 135 cm. and length of 3 m. The machines are created following the original drawings of the Renaissance genius Leonardo. The collection contains a prototype of a crank handle lift, a paddle boat, a 33-barreled organ, a pressing machine for printing, a parachute, a drill, etc.
The exhibition officially titled “The Scientific Heritage of Leonardo da Vinci” will be exposed in “Petko Zadgorski” Art Gallery of Burgas. It will open on March 9th, Monday at 6.00 p.m. The price of the tickets will be BGN 2 /for adults/ and BGN 1 /for students and pensioners/. For children under 7 years it will be free. The exhibition will be hosted in Burgas until May 10th.
