A blood donation campaign on the occasion of Burgas' holiday – St. Nicholas Day – will be held for the second consecutive year, with municipal councilors and local government employees participating. The campaign will take place on December 6th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Department of Transfusion Hematology at UMHAT Burgas.
The idea came from the Deputy Chairperson of the Municipal Council and Deputy Director of UMHAT Burgas, Dr. Svetoslav Todorov. "With this gesture, we want to thank the people who have trusted us by electing us and help all those who currently need a blood transfusion. We invite everyone who wishes to join us," he said. Several municipal council members have already declared their participation, as well as representatives from the Rotary Club "Burgas - Primorie."
The Deputy Mayor for Healthcare, Social Affairs, and Youth Policies in Burgas, Mihail Nenov, was the first to respond to Dr. Svetoslav Todorov's call. He donated blood earlier due to his commitments to the city's holiday program on St. Nicholas Day.
It is worth noting that, in addition to two days off and the health benefits for the donor, every blood donor receives a voucher for a free visit to preferred tourist destinations in Burgas. This joint initiative is organized by UMHAT Burgas and the Municipality of Burgas as a gesture of gratitude.
