The Vocational School of Maritime Navigation and Fishing "St. Nikola” took a new serious step on the way to turning Burgas into a center of maritime education in the region and establishing a professional maritime college.

The establishment of the Professional Maritime College in Burgas aims to train specialists for operational activities in the maritime industries, port activities, shipping and environmental protection, who have higher qualifications and whose knowledge, skills and competencies meet the requirements of the National Qualifications Framework, the European Qualifications Framework and the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Only two weeks earlier, The Vocational School of Maritime Navigation and Fishing signed a cooperation agreement with the South Bulgarian Maritime Education Center and training high school students there, and shortly before that a contract was signed with the Dutch company VSTEP BV for the purchase and delivery of a modern nautical simulator type "NAUTIS Desktop" for their better and qualified training.

This, along with the opening of the new specialty "Operation of ports and fleet", confirms the constant development of the high school, after its transfer to the Burgas Municipality and joint efforts to modernize the facilities and improve the quality of education in it.
