A new permanent exhibition, dedicated to the inhabitants of the World Ocean can be viewed in the Museum of Natural Science in Burgas. By no accident, it is opened on Earth Day, marked every year on the 22nd of April.
The exhibition shows the large biodiversity in the seas and oceans which is highly endangered by the human activity. The main threat for the sea inhabitants, on which the museum focuses, is the contamination of the World Ocean with garbage.
Many scientists today predict that if this contamination continues with the same speed, in 30 years there are going to be more garbage than living organisms in the oceans. In order for marine life not to become just museum pieces, it is necessary for people to change some of their daily habits and, above all, to reduce the use of plastic products.
