An exhibition showcasing 18 disappearing crafts will be presented at the "Marine Casino" Cultural Center. The official opening of the exhibition is on December 11 at 6:30 PM in the "Georgi Baev" hall.

"Disappearing" is a documentary series that seeks out and films masters of long-forgotten crafts from across the country. The team undertaking the challenging task of preserving the memory of these crafts has been working on the series since 2021.

Photographers Tanya Koritarova and Yonko Rusev, along with operators Nadezhda Bakalova and Todor Tsonev, present the old and disappearing crafts in an easy and accessible way.

The authors define "Disappearing" not just as a photography project, but as a mission.

The crafts on display include: woodturning, woodcarving, sheepskin leather making, wool felting, bagpipe making, basket weaving, carpet weaving, pottery, fishing, Kalofer shuttle lace making, blacksmithing, knife making, basket weaving, coppersmithing, leatherworking, mattress making, gardening, and weaving belts "on the bark."

If you are curious to see the people who still preserve the memory of these crafts, don’t miss the exhibition.
