In 2008 the European Union declared May 20th for “European day of the sea”. This day, devoted to the sea, encourages for the best management of the coastal zones, seas and oceans by all interested citizens and participants.
Municipality Burgas marks the European day of the sea by joining a new international project, which aims to preserve the Black sea ecosystem. The partners in the project are organizations from Bulgarian, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.
